ABOUT THE ROLE

Applied Intuition is seeking an experienced HIL Systems Integration Engineer to design, build, and bring up hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) benches that replicate our vehicle platform’s E/E architecture. You will lead system-level integration of ECUs, harnessing, instrumentation, and test automation across our HIL bench fleet, ensuring program milestones and quality standards are met.

AT APPLIED INTUITION, YOU WILL:

• Lead system-level integration and bring-up of HIL benches replicating vehicle E/E behavior.

• Design and assemble bench hardware — wire harnesses, breakout boxes, load simulation, power distribution, and instrumentation — for ease of assembly, serviceability, and robust operation

• Develop tooling and automation in Python for ECU flashing, test orchestration, and bench health monitoring integrated into CI pipelines

• Debug internal hardware and software issues using oscilloscopes, and bus analysis tools across CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet

• Conduct network compatibility and protocol compliance reviews to validate interoperability of sensors, ECUs, and actuation subsystems on the bench

• Define acceptance criteria, execute bench- and vehicle-level validation, and drive root cause analysis to closure

• Maintain platform documentation including bench schematics, integration procedures, failure mode analyses, and action reports

• Interface cross-functionally with software, hardware, and program teams to drive delivery, tracking integration tasks and defects in JIRA

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS:

• BS or MS degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems Engineering, or equivalent program

• 2-3+ years of experience in vehicle E/E systems integration, HIL bench development, or vehicle-level validation

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with commercial HIL and real-time simulation platforms (e.g., dSPACE, NI, Vector,

Speedgoat)

• Experience creating harness and subsystem schematics using Siemens Capital or similar ECAD tools

• Model-based development experience with MATLAB/Simulink

• Experience supporting factory or vehicle launch bring-up under tight timelines

• Excellent written & oral communication skills – ability to present to wider audiences

Don’t meet every single requirement? If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
