MaintainX is the world's leading AI-powered maintenance and asset management platform, serving 14,000+ customers including Duracell, Shell, Cintas, and Brenntag. We raised $150M in Series D funding https://www.getmaintainx.com/newsroom/maintainx-raises-150m led by Bessemer Venture Partners and Bain Capital Ventures, bringing our total funding to $254M. We were named to the Forbes 2025 Cloud 100 https://www.getmaintainx.com/blog/maintainx-named-to-2025-forbes-cloud-100, the definitive ranking of the top 100 private cloud companies in the world. We're growing fast and hiring the talent to match.
We're hiring a Staff Product Manager to own LLMX, MaintainX's internal AI Platform: the runtime, orchestration, evaluation, and observability layer that every product team builds their AI features on. This is one of the highest-leverage seats in the company. Every agent, every AI-powered workflow, and every intelligent capability we ship depends on decisions you make. We're looking for a rare combination of genuine technical depth in AI systems mixed with a commercial instinct anchored in curiosity.
This is a hybrid role based out of either our San Francisco or Toronto office.
What you'll do
- Own the LLMX roadmap end to end, and drive adoption and quality against metrics like time-to-first-integration, eval coverage, latency, and cost.
- Define the platform primitives, including routing agents, skill orchestration, human-in-the-loop workflows, agent memory, conversation compaction, and the app-wide conversational interface, that make MaintainX's next generation of agentic features possible.
- Own the platform's evaluation infrastructure, including online eval monitoring, dataset promotion, and agent gating, so quality scales as the number of production agents grows.
- Work proactively across MaintainX's entire product organization to identify what upcoming agentic features will need, before those needs become blockers, including demand that's still nascent.
- Shape build vs. buy vs. integrate decisions for models, providers, and infrastructure, staying ahead of the state of the art in LLMs and agentic AI.
About you
- 10+ years in product management, with meaningful experience in AI platform, ML infrastructure, or developer platform roles.
- You've shipped production AI services that other teams built on, and you know what it takes to earn and keep their trust.
- Real, informed opinions on model selection, RAG vs. fine-tuning trade-offs, agentic architectures, evaluation frameworks, and latency/cost optimization.
- Comfortable serving two customers at once: the internal teams building on your platform, and the enterprise buyers whose outcomes depend on it.
- Strong commercial instinct, connecting platform investment to enterprise differentiation, competitive positioning, and deal cycles.
- A real system for staying current in LLMs and agentic AI, and the discipline to apply it without chasing every new release.
- Data-driven by default: you define success in metrics, instrument your platform, and use evals to make quality visible at scale
- Nice to have: experience in industrial operations or asset management.
What's in it for you
- Competitive salary and meaningful equity opportunities.
- Healthcare, dental, and vision coverage.
- 401(k) / RRSP enrolment program.
- Take what you need PTO.
- A team that reflects our values: Smart, Humble, Optimist, and believes in meritocracy. Ideas and effort get recognized regardless of title.
