Director/Senior Director- Finance

About the team The Finance team at CASE Platforms acts as a steward for the organisation and also supports its business growth - spanning controllership, finance operations, business finance, investor relations, taxation, and secretarial. The team plays a key role in equipping the organisation with the right financial information, and ensuring that the organisation’s financial foundation keeps pace with its growth. About the role We are looking to hire an ownership-driven individual for CASE Platforms’ Finance team. The role involves leading and managing the finance team, while also contributing individually across projects and tasks that require direct hands-on effort. The role involves interfacing both with internal stakeholders (business, product teams) as well as external ones (statutory auditors, tax consultants, etc.). As the organisation scales and its business lines grow, it is important that the finance function keeps us with the requirements of such growth & scale; the mandate of the role is to achieve the same. What you will be doing: Controllership & Reporting Owning the controllership function, including maintenance of books of accounts, statutory financial reporting, and consolidation of group entities in compliance with Ind AS Leading the statutory audit process across group entities — managing the audit calendar, coordinating with statutory auditors, and ensuring clean, timely closures Ensuring Internal Financial Controls (IFC) framework compliance and reviewing key finance processes from a controls perspective to identify gaps and drive improvements Finance Operations Working with the business and/or product teams and setting up the required processes for new business/revenue lines Overseeing end-to-end finance operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, vendor management, and month-end/year-end close processes Driving continuous improvement and automation of finance operations processes, with a goal of building high-confidence, scalable, and well-documented processes Business Finance & Investor Relations Overseeing monthly reporting and ensuring management accounts are produced accurately and on time Analysing business performance across the group, and identifying improvement/growth opportunities that can help the organisation Supporting financial planning & analysis - building financial projections, identifying variances, and translating numbers into actionable insights Owning investor relations - preparing and delivering regular performance updates to shareholders and the Board, and responding to queries on business performance Taxation Reviewing recurring direct and indirect tax compliance filings and ensuring timely submissions Overseeing tax assessments and litigations in coordination with external tax consultants; being actively involved in strategy and resolution Acting as a thought partner on tax positions for various business initiatives Secretarial Overseeing secretarial compliances across group companies, reviewing filings and board documentation, and working closely with external consultants for recurring requirements Managing related party transaction documentation and reporting requirements across group entities, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations Other projects/initiatives Working with business teams/founders on identifying and executing initiatives around revenue growth, cost optimisation, and other business initiatives that can benefit the organisation Driving continuous improvement and automation of finance processes, including identifying opportunities to leverage AI and technology tools to make the function more efficient and scalable What we are looking for Chartered Accountant (CA) with about 8-9 years of post-qualification experience Prior experience at a B2C startup (post Series C stage, preferably product-based) and/or in a Big 6 stat audit practice; IPO-related experience is a strong advantage Strong working knowledge of Ind AS, statutory reporting, and consolidation; hands-on experience managing stat audits and working with Big 6 firms Understanding of direct and indirect taxation - recurring compliances, assessments, and litigation management; ability to work closely with and review work Understanding of secretarial processes and tasks Comfort with the breadth of the role and the ability to both lead teams and get into the work directly without one Strong team management skills, with experience leading junior to mid-level team members Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proactive and structured approach towards problem-solving Curiosity to learn about new areas (including AI and automation tools) and and adopt such learnings About smallcase At smallcase, we are changing how India invests. smallcase is a leading provider of investment products & platforms to over 10 million Indians. smallcase was founded in July 2015 by three IIT Kharagpur graduates, Vasanth Kamath, Anugrah Shrivastava and Rohan Gupta. smallcase has been focused on offering innovative investing experiences & technology.
