ABOUT THE ROLE:
Varick is a fast-growing startup with real traction at $5B+ enterprises. As a Summer Engineering Intern, you'll come in with a clearly defined summer project, ownership over a core business product, and a fun team in SF.
You'll embed with our Forward Deployed Engineers on real enterprise engagements, shipping code, sitting in on working sessions, and seeing how we turn a client's messy problem into production systems. Along the way, you'll own a summer project building the internal tools that power how we run those engagements.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
You'll work on agentic process mining - taking the FDE process and turning it into a product. We have unparalleled access to the workings of publicly traded companies, whose processes are too complicated for any off-the-shelf tool. You'll build the internal product that powers how we run client audits and manage the information flowing in and out of them:
• Ship code alongside our Forward Deployed Engineers at $5B+ enterprises
• Sit in on working sessions and see how a messy client problem becomes something that runs in production
• Build graph-based knowledge networks
• Ingest documents at high throughput
• Mine for real structure across messy enterprise data
• Streamline how we run audits: intake, evidence collection, status tracking
• Centralize documents, decisions, and artifacts so nothing gets lost between tools
• Cut manual work out of tasks currently spread across Drive, Slack, Notion, and email
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Strong programming fundamentals and you can pick up new stacks quickly
• Full stack capability, you can build a backend service and the UI that sits on top of it
• You care about code quality and shipping things that don't break at 3am
• High agency, you can take a vague problem and turn it into something real
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
• Prior internships or production engineering experience
• Familiarity with LLM APIs and agent frameworks
• Frontend experience (React, Next.js, or similar)
• Working with graph databases or knowledge graphs
• Document processing, OCR, or information extraction
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
WHY VARICK:
• Ship to production, not to demos. Every system you build runs inside real enterprise operations. 100% deployment rate.
• Early enough to shape everything. Your work defines the product, the platform, and the company.
• Compounding impact. Every client deployment feeds the pattern library and makes the next one faster. You’re building leverage, not doing the same thing twice.
• Work with operators, not committees. You talk directly to the people who run the business — CFOs, COOs, ops leads — not procurement layers.
• Fun team in SF. Free lunch and dinner included.
