Sentient Foundation has committed $42 million across a combined grant and investment program for open AGI. This grant track is for open source maintainers, researchers and public-goods builders. Grants carry no equity, lockups or claim on the recipient's work. Support can also include compute credits, engineering help, distribution and access to the foundation's builder community. At least one essential part of the project must be genuinely open, such as its model, weights, code, data or evaluations. The foundation does not publish a grant size or how the $42 million is divided between grants and investments.
