Can you apply
Hexa Start is for entrepreneurs building companies from scratch, often before they have a concrete idea. The program runs for 12 months and is more operationally intensive: it provides the idea, team, and co-founder. It's perfect for founders who don't have an idea or traction yet. Every year, we are approached by roughly 1000 aspiring entrepreneurs. From these, we select an average of 12 founders (two per project) per year. Hexa is based in Paris, 12 rue Martel 75010. We have several founders who aren't based in Paris, but it's important to have a presence at our HQ.

What Hexa funds
The Paris studio formerly called eFounders, behind Front, Aircall and Spendesk. It is the rare studio that publishes its whole deal: Hexa Start hands you an idea, a co-founder and 700,000 euros for a third of the company, and Hexa Sprint writes a 500,000 euro first cheque to teams that already have one.

The 700,000 euros splits in two: 400,000 is invoiced by Hexa for the studio's own support and 300,000 lands in the company's bank account for founder pay, early salaries, tools and travel. Hexa takes 33.33% at incorporation and dilutes pro rata with the founders in every later round, so it targets holding about 25% after the seed. Hexa holds preferred shares with a 1x non-participating liquidation preference, a post-seed board seat, standard information rights and pro-rata rights capped at 20% of a round. Around 1,000 people approach Hexa each year and about 12 founders, two per project, are selected. You are expected to be present at the Paris office, and you spend time in San Francisco during the year.
