Can you apply
The work we support is free, open-source, non-commercial, and designed to create positive sum outcomes for the community. Open source: All outputs must be open-source or otherwise freely available; for-profit companies are welcome to apply, but the specific grant-funded work must be open-source and accessible to the community. Budget: Cost-effectiveness and appropriate allocation of resources; since we are offering non-dilutive capital, we generally anticipate some flexibility below standard market rates.

What Ethereum Foundation funds
Through its Ecosystem Support Program, the Ethereum Foundation funds free, open-source, non-commercial work that strengthens Ethereum's foundations: builder tools, infrastructure, cryptography and protocol research, education and community development. Support is directed toward enabling builders rather than end-users.

Wishlist items "define high-level goals that guide impactful areas of work" and "leave room for diverse approaches", in contrast to RFPs which carry "a set application window". Items are "added and updated based on the evolving needs of the ecosystem". Grants are structured with milestone-based payments and are paid on-chain in ETH by default. At the time of capture the Wishlist page stated: "There are currently no active wishlists available for application."
