What Deep Science Ventures funds

A London venture creator for scientists rather than for people who already have a startup. Founders are funded for up to 18 months, work on opportunity areas the team has pre-scoped, and can form more than one company in that time, which is the point: the failure of a single idea does not end your run.

Details

Founders join the DSV team, are funded for the full duration and work with a sector specialist team. Ideas come from DSV's own analysis: it picks a sector, narrows to an opportunity area, then finds the founder for it. You can form more than one company across your time there, which DSV frames as de-risking the founder proposition. The company incorporates and spins out at the end, with DSV investing alongside other investors. DSV reports 50 companies built in 8 years and an 82% survival rate. There is no application form; you go through the contact page.
